A Negroni Night in the Jungle Room

This is Negroni Week at Gitano Jungle Tulum, held on a Friday and built around one of the world's best-known cocktails. Guest bartenders take over the bar for the week, mixing special drinks with Campari alongside the venue's own list. The evening runs from 6PM until late: settle in for dinner and cocktails first, then the room shifts toward music and dancing as Gypsy Disco begins. Expect Negronis, candlelight, palms and the jungle energy Gitano is known for. Come for the Negroni, stay for the disco. A free guest list is available, with general admission tickets sold separately.

Campari, Guest Bartenders and the Gitano Bar

Negroni Week runs with Campari and Imbibe, and guest bartenders step behind the bar with cocktails made for the occasion. That programme sits on top of a bar that already holds more than 50 mezcals and mixes drinks with locally grown seasonal fruit and herbs. Jungle Fever and the Gypsy Disco 75 are two of the house signatures if you want to look beyond the Negroni. The drinks run alongside dinner before the focus moves to the dance floor, so you can order a round while you eat and keep going once the music takes over.

The Bartender Takeover, 7PM to 10PM

Limantour, Tlecān and Chow Chow House take over the bar with special cocktails, printed for 7PM to 10PM. Their pours land in the middle of dinner service, so this is the window to try what the guest bartenders have built for Negroni Week. After the takeover, Gypsy Disco carries the night into music and dancing. Gitano's Friday residency moves through deep house, nu-disco, indie dance, Latin rhythms and melodic house, and the suspended disco ball becomes the centre of the Jungle Room as the room turns away from seated dining.

Dinner Over Open Fire First

Dinner service starts at 6PM, and the kitchen cooks modern Mexican sharing plates over open fire and wood grills. Snacks and small plates include tostadas with salsas at 200 MXN, guacamole at 420 MXN and truffle and mushroom sopes at 580 MXN. From the sea there is shrimp aguachile at 450 MXN, a Baja California hamachi tostada at 520 MXN, octopus zarandeado at 750 MXN and a lobster tostada at 820 MXN. Dishes are marked gluten-free, nut-free, vegetarian and dairy-free, so tell your waiter about any allergy before ordering. Sharing plates let a group order across the menu before the dancing starts.

The Room

Gitano Jungle sits on the jungle side of Tulum's Beach Road in the Hotel Zone. The open-air venue combines a modern Mexican dining room, a mezcal bar, a lounge and a dance floor, with candlelit wooden decks set among thick palm foliage. A pink neon sign and a giant suspended disco ball mark the place. Dinner begins on the decks before the focus moves to the Jungle Room, an indoor-outdoor space that hosts DJs, cabaret-style performances and dancing. The venue is LGBTQIA+ welcoming and draws an international, event-led crowd, including birthday and bachelorette groups.

Celebrating a Birthday

If you are marking an occasion, Gitano can arrange a chocolate cake or a tequila, lime and almond cake, with sparklers, bubbles and a short personalised message. Cake and sparklers cost 1,360 MXN, and celebration packages start at 3,740 MXN. A Friday special edition like this one is a natural fit for a group table, since the same room carries you from dinner through to the late-night party.

How to Attend

Doors are from 6PM, with dinner and the guest bartender takeover first and Gypsy Disco later in the night. Free guest list places are available, and general admission tickets are sold separately. Advance reservations are worth it for Fridays and special editions, because these nights pull the largest crowds and the room fills. Reserve your spot through the buy button on this page.
