El Barrio is a Chicago house-inspired listening lounge, craft beer garden and rooftop pool in Tulum Centro. The music leans into Chicago house, disco, funk, organic and underground house, with regular vinyl sets and occasional live R&B, jazz, salsa and bachata.
It is one of the better options in town if you want music without heading to the Hotel Zone. Regular free sessions include Disco Dining on Thursdays, House Happy Hours on Fridays and Funky Brunch on Sundays. Downstairs, the taproom serves local Mundo Maya craft beer alongside Chicago-style pizza, while the rooftop has a pool and palapa bar.
Best for: House music, vinyl, craft beer and a casual night in Centro.
