Mezzanine is an oceanfront Thai restaurant and boutique hotel inside Jaguar National Park, set on a rocky stretch of coastline around Km 4.4. Its open-air terrace looks directly over the Caribbean, with beach access below and a quieter atmosphere than the busier southern end of the Hotel Zone.
The restaurant is best known for traditional Thai cooking, including Massaman curry, Pad Thai and Gai Pad Grapow, alongside a daytime Mexican and seafood menu. Fresh coconut milk is pressed on site for the curries, and the kitchen avoids MSG and processed sugar. The bar also runs a two-for-one happy hour from 4 PM to 6 PM.
Mezzanine works especially well for a relaxed lunch, sunset drinks or dinner by the water rather than a full beach-club day. Because it sits inside Jaguar National Park, visitors need to pay the park’s government conservation fee to access the road.
Best for: Thai food, couples, oceanfront dining, sunset drinks and a quieter meal by the beach.
