This privacy policy explains how Tulum Bible (“Tulum Bible”, “we”, “us”) collects and uses information when you use tulumbible.com, contact us, submit an enquiry, or ask us to help arrange a booking.
We try to keep data collection limited to what we actually use and explain it here in plain language.

where you are staying;
venues, events or services you are interested in; and
any notes or requests you choose to send us.
If you ask us to arrange something specific, we may need additional information relevant to that request.
For example, if you are arranging a private chef or another service, you may choose to tell us about allergies, dietary requirements, accessibility needs, or other information needed to handle the request.
Please do not send us sensitive information that is not relevant to the service you are asking for.
Information collected when you use the site
When you visit Tulum Bible, our website and service providers receive basic technical information including:
IP address;
browser and device type;
operating system;
referring page;
pages visited;
date and time of requests; and
approximate country or region derived from your IP address.
We also use PostHog to understand how people use the site. Unless you decline optional tracking or turn it off through Cookie Settings, this may include:
pages viewed;
clicks;
scrolling;
navigation between pages;
browser and device information;
an anonymous or pseudonymous browser identifier; and
session replay of your interactions with the website.
We do not use your camera or microphone and we do not record anything outside the Tulum Bible website.

operate, maintain and secure the website;

identify pages or features that are confusing or not working properly;

We do not share personal information with advertisers or data brokers for their own advertising purposes.
3. Bookings and local providers
Tulum Bible often acts as the point of contact between you and local businesses.
If you ask us to arrange a reservation or service, we may share the information needed to handle that request with the relevant provider.
Depending on what you are booking, this may include:
restaurants and beach clubs;
event organisers or ticketing providers;
hotels, villa owners or property managers;
yacht and catamaran operators;
transportation companies and drivers;
private chefs and catering teams;
photographers, DJs and event suppliers; and
other local providers involved in your request.
We only share information that is reasonably needed to arrange or manage the service.
Once your information is passed to an independent provider, that provider may also process it under its own privacy practices.
4. Companies that help us run Tulum Bible
We use a small number of outside services to operate the website.
PostHog
We use PostHog for product analytics and session replay.
PostHog may receive information including pages viewed, clicks, scrolling, browser and device information, approximate location derived from your IP address, and a pseudonymous visitor identifier.
Analytics and session replay are enabled automatically when you visit unless you decline them through the cookie banner, change your preferences in Cookie Settings, or we recognise a supported privacy signal that disables them.
Convex
Convex stores enquiries, reservation requests and other information submitted through our forms.
This may include your name, email, phone number, dates, party size and any message or notes you send.
Cloudflare
Cloudflare provides website infrastructure, content delivery, image delivery, security and Turnstile bot protection.
As part of serving and protecting the site, Cloudflare receives technical information such as your IP address and request details.
Resend
Resend is used to deliver certain emails and may receive the contents of a form submission when email delivery is required.
Google Maps
Some pages use Google Maps to display locations. Google may receive your IP address and information about your interaction with the map when it loads.
Other platforms
If you contact us through WhatsApp, Instagram or another third-party platform, that platform processes your communication under its own privacy terms.
The same applies when you follow a link from Tulum Bible to a ticketing platform, venue website or another third-party service.
5. Analytics and session replay
We use PostHog analytics and session replay to understand how people use Tulum Bible and where the site can be improved.
Analytics
Analytics may show us things such as:
which pages are viewed;
how visitors move through the site;
which buttons or features are used;
approximate country or region;
device and browser type; and
general usage patterns.
Session replay
Session replay records interactions with pages on Tulum Bible, including navigation, clicks and scrolling.
It does not record your device outside our website and does not use your camera or microphone.
Text entered into form fields is masked in session recordings. This means information such as your name, email, phone number and messages typed into forms is not visible in the replay.
Recordings are used to understand problems with the site and improve the experience. They are not monitored live.
Analytics and session replay begin automatically unless you decline optional tracking or turn them off.
You can change your preference at any time through the Cookie Settings link in the footer. Turning session replay off stops new sessions from being recorded.
6. Cookies and browser storage
We use cookies and browser storage for a small number of purposes.
Necessary
These remember things required for the site to work properly, including your cookie preferences and certain basic site settings.
Analytics
PostHog analytics help us understand how visitors use the website.
Analytics are enabled by default. You can disable them through the cookie banner or Cookie Settings.
Session replay
PostHog session replay helps us understand how visitors interact with pages.
Session replay is enabled by default. You can disable it through the cookie banner or Cookie Settings.
Your choices
When the cookie banner appears, you can accept the current settings or decline optional analytics and session replay.
You can change your choice later using Cookie Settings in the footer.
Where our website recognises a supported Global Privacy Control signal, we treat that signal as a request to disable optional analytics and session replay.
7. What we store in your browser
Depending on how you use the site, we may store:
tb_cookie_consent
Remembers your cookie and tracking preferences.
tb_visitor_country
Stores your approximate country so we can show relevant formats, phone numbers or currency.
tb_visitor_identity
May remember the name, email or phone number you previously typed into a form so you do not have to enter it again.
This information stays in your browser until you submit a form. Submitting the form sends the information contained in that form to us.
tb_visitor_tbu_id
An identifier that allows us to recognise the same browser across Tulum Bible and other sites we operate, including Core Tulum and 7 Realms.
PostHog browser identifier
Used for analytics and session replay unless you disable optional tracking.
You can remove locally stored information through your browser settings.
8. How we share information
We do not sell personal information.
We do not share it with advertisers, data brokers, or social media platforms so they can build advertising profiles about you.
Information may be shared with:
the service providers that operate our website and systems;
local providers involved in a reservation or service you ask us to arrange;
other projects we operate, such as Core Tulum and 7 Realms, where needed to provide a connected service or recognise a returning visitor; and
authorities or other parties where disclosure is required by law or reasonably necessary to protect someone's safety or legal rights.
We only share information for the purpose for which it is needed.
9. Marketing
We send promotional emails only where you have subscribed or otherwise agreed to receive them.
You can unsubscribe using the link in any marketing email or by contacting us.
Unsubscribing from marketing does not prevent us from contacting you about an enquiry, booking or other service you requested.
10. International processing
CERKA LLC and the companies we use to operate Tulum Bible may process information in different countries.
PostHog and Convex currently process information in the United States. Other providers may also process information outside the country where you live.
Where applicable law requires specific safeguards for international transfers, we use the mechanisms available through our service providers or another lawful transfer method.
11. How long we keep information
We keep information for as long as reasonably needed for the reason it was collected.
For example:
enquiries and reservation records may be kept while we arrange the service and afterwards for customer service, disputes, accounting and normal business records;
marketing information is kept until you unsubscribe or we no longer need it;
analytics and session replay information is kept according to the retention settings in our PostHog account; and
information stored only in your browser remains there until it expires, is replaced or you delete it.
When information is no longer needed, we delete it, anonymise it or allow it to expire.
12. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information.
No online system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, but we limit access to personal information and use service providers with security measures designed to protect the information they process.
If a security incident occurs and applicable law requires us to notify affected people, we will do so.
13. Children
Tulum Bible is intended primarily for adults planning travel, reservations and events.
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 18.
