A Candlelit Saturday Dinner and Dance by the Beach
On Saturday, October 17, 2026, Ceremonia returns to Gitano Beach in Tulum’s Hotel Zone. The weekly series joins a Mexican dinner menu and mezcal cocktail service to a beachfront dance floor. This edition runs 6PM — LATE. It is presented as a candlelit ritual of sound, connection and movement. You can arrive for dinner and stay as the space shifts into its DJ-led night format.
A Tulum Ritual That Travelled to New York and Dubai
Ceremonia began in Tulum and has since run at Gitano locations in New York and Dubai. In Tulum, it takes place on Saturdays that do not coincide with the full moon. The series starts at 6pm and continues into the night. Tiago Dima, Prah and Badaoui are among its residents. The recurring format, resident DJs and dinner-to-dance structure make this a series rather than a one-artist show.
Organic House with Afro-Latin Rhythm and Disco
The music centres on organic house and downtempo. Afro-latin rhythms and tribal percussion give the sets their physical pulse, while electro house and disco broaden the sound. The programme is built for a night that begins around dinner tables and continues on the dance floor. It also fits the venue’s wider programme of deep house, tropical house, nu-disco, indie dance and melodic house.
A 120-Metre Beach Floor Under a Giant Disco Ball
Gitano Beach occupies a 120-metre strip of sand with cushioned sunbeds, cabanas and bamboo benches. Black-and-white striped tipis provide shade, while a giant disco ball marks the venue’s dance-led identity. The palapa covers an open-fire kitchen with a wood-burning oven, grill and comal. Lounge chairs, single sunbeds, double beach beds and beach suites create different spaces for couples and groups. Towels are normally available for a separate rental fee.
The beach club opened in February 2021 and now sits beside the Casa Gitano hotel, near the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve. It belongs to Grupo Gitano, which also operates properties in Miami, New York and Dubai. Regular days begin with food, drinks and beach seating before the energy rises around sunset. DJs usually play from Thursday through Sunday, linking the daytime beach-club format with the evening programme. The crowd commonly includes international visitors, couples and groups celebrating together.
Wood-Fired Mexican Plates and Mezcal Cocktails
Dinner is part of the party format rather than a separate theme around the music. Chef Alexandros Gkoutsi’s regular menu combines Mexican cooking with Mediterranean influences. The open-fire kitchen produces grilled seafood, roasted meats, tacos and vegetable plates. Cochinita pibil tacos come with habanero and salsa verde. The menu also includes tostadas, aguachile, hummus, shishito peppers and tlayuda.
The drinks programme centres on mezcal cocktails. Other ingredients used across the menu include passion fruit, tangerine habanero, burnt pineapple and lime. Food labels identify gluten-free, nut-free, vegetarian and dairy-free dishes. Guests with allergies or dietary restrictions should tell their waiter before ordering.
Recurring Sessions Connect Daytime to the Dance Floor
The venue’s regular music programme includes Full Moon Rising, Gypsy Disco, Sunset Fiesta and Las Gitanas. Its Sunday Beach BBQ Fiesta adds food and daytime music to the weekly schedule. GITANO Records also publishes playlists, live recordings and DJ sets spanning organic house, deep house, downtempo and disco house. From Thursday through Sunday, regular DJ sets begin at 1 PM. This Saturday edition follows its own evening format from 6PM — Late.
