The Friday residency has run at Gitano Jungle every week since 2013. It is a dinner party first, with music and movement building as the evening continues. Local DJs Set the Disco, Funk and Groove
The DJs at Gypsy Disco are local artists, with no touring headliner at the centre of the bill. Sets focus on disco, funk, groove and nu-disco, with a feel-good pace made for a dinner crowd moving onto the dance floor. The wider Friday sound also includes house and melodic house. The bill belongs to the weekly party rather than an individual artist. A live show is also part of this edition’s programme.
From Candlelit Decks to the Jungle Room
Gitano Jungle is an open-air restaurant, mezcal bar, lounge and dance venue on Tulum’s Beach Road. Dinner starts on candlelit wooden decks set among thick palms. Later, the focus moves toward the indoor-outdoor Jungle Room for DJs and dancing. Pink neon and a giant suspended disco ball define the room. The layout lets you spend the full evening in one venue without moving between a restaurant and a separate club.
Open-Fire Mexican Plates Before the Dance Floor
The kitchen serves modern Mexican sharing plates made with seasonal local ingredients, open fire and wood grills. Regular dishes include octopus zarandeado, pork al pastor tacos and shrimp aguachile.
